Sketch
The process begins with thumbnails, resulting in the development of a rough sketch. The sketch is then refined to the point where a clear and developed character/design is created so color studies can begin.
Color Study
Once the sketch is brought to a workable stage, a color study is then made on a copy of the sketch. Many studies might be done until one is decided on to be used to move forward with the finished illustration.
Finished
The finished illustration is done on a paper that properly receives the medium of choice for the best result. For this series Hot Press paper was used to compliment the gouache paint. The finished illustration is then scanned and cleaned up digitally.
